The drawing on the left is the first illustration I created which inspired what is now the Arpi krikorian collection. The character and pose were from my imagination. For the costume details, I researched on Pinterest and found pictures of the Sayat Nova Dance Team in Boston, MA. Four years later, while visiting Boston, I met Arlin (on the right), one of the dancers of the Sayat Nova crew. We both got the shock of our lives when Arlin, who was unfamiliar with my artwork and had never seen my drawing pulled out the photo on the right on her phone. She had never seen my Arpi drawing. Her photo was taken four years after I created the drawing. Now that’s serendipity!
