Embrace the Art of Observation: Join My Uninstructed Figure Drawing Workshops

There’s something deeply fulfilling about capturing the human form on paper. The way light and shadow play across the curves, the challenge of translating emotion through subtle gestures, and the satisfaction of seeing it all come together in a drawing—it’s a process that never gets old…but it is far from being easy. Figure drawing has always been challenging for me so I decided to do something about it!

I thought the best way to have no excuses to practice is to make the habit convenient. SOOOO, I’ve started hosting uninstructed figure-drawing workshops right here in my studio! I am currently offering three sessions a week. What this does is allow me to practice drawing with a model for nine hours a week alongside artist friends!

A Creative Space for Artists of All Levels

I wanted to create a space where artists of all levels could come together, connect, and grow without the pressure of formal instruction. Everyone is free to explore in their own style, experiment with new techniques, and most importantly, practice, practice, practice!

We meet every Wednesday evening from 6 pm to 9 pm, Saturdays from 10 am to 1 pm, and a second session from 2 pm-5 pm. The vibe is relaxed, welcoming, and focused—perfect for diving into your creative zone. So, grab your favorite sketchbook, sharpen those pencils, and let’s draw together!

Drawing from Life!

One of the things I love most about these sessions is the opportunity to draw from live models. There’s nothing quite like the experience of capturing the nuances of a live pose—whether it’s the elegance of a costumed figure or the raw beauty of the nude form. Each session brings something new, challenging us to see beyond the surface and really connect with our subjects.

This variety keeps things fresh and exciting, offering a mix of costumed and nude models that inspire different approaches and ideas. It’s all about pushing ourselves to see the human figure in new ways and then translating that vision onto paper.

Why You Should Join Us

  1. Consistent Practice: We all know that regular practice is key to improving our skills. These twice-weekly workshops are a great way to build that consistency and keep growing as artists.
  2. Community and Camaraderie: There’s something special about creating alongside others who share your passion. It’s a chance to connect, share tips, and inspire each other as we work.
  3. Variety and Challenge: With a mix of costumed and nude models, all sessions are different. This variety keeps us excited and pushes us to keep evolving in our art.
  4. A Supportive Environment: My goal is to create a space where everyone feels welcome, whether you’re an experienced artist or picking up a pencil for the first time. It’s all about enjoying the process and learning together.

What to Bring

Bring along whatever drawing materials you love to work with—charcoal, pencils, pastels, ink, and a sketchbook or if you like working on a larger scale, bring a drawing board. The studio has plenty of room for you to spread out and get comfortable equipped with easels and drawing horses for you to use.

Let’s Draw Together

There’s something truly special about drawing from life, and I’m thrilled to be able to offer these workshops as a way for us all to explore and grow as artists. Whether you’re looking to sharpen your skills, find new inspiration, or just spend a few hours immersed in creativity, I hope you’ll join me at one of our sessions.

See you at the studio! Let’s make some art together.
