This shirt is for the Tantig squad. Tantigs are powerful. If someone is your Tantig, you are their cub. They will protect you no matter what. Tantig is a word that many Armenians use to refer to the women in their life who are not necessarily blood related but are loved and respected as if they are, such as your mom’s friends or girlfriends. You’d use it by saying their first name then Tantig (ex: Arpi Tantig). It actually stems from the French word for aunt, “tante.” Armenians have added the suffix “ig” behind it which is used to make a word more affectionate so it’s an Armenified version of auntie. I see it as a title to be worn proudly representing, loyalty and friendship for any band of girls and women.
