I am Arpi Krikorian. Very nice to meet you.

I believe people come into our lives for a reason. In 10th grade, my art teacher told me about Art Center College of Design’s (ACCD) High School program and I was hooked. I spent the next 3 years of all my Saturdays at ACCD’s beautiful hillside campus, completely in love with art making. On my 18th birthday, I was accepted into their undergarduate program.

Three wonderfully torturous years later, I received my BA in Illustration. Ready to take on the world, I hit all the bumps one could imagine. At one time, I thought someone was throwing those curveballs at me like a tennis ball machine.

In the midst of all the chaos, I married my high school sweetheart, the love of my life, and started a wonderful chapter in my life story.

Four years later, an internship led to a full time artist on staff position at the incredible Nickelodeon Animation Studios in Burbank where I worked with a group of people that were a collection of everyone’s class clown with incredible drawing skills, amazing imaginations and HUGE hearts. I was a storyboard revisionist for the “Angry Beavers” and on our down time, I also freelanced for “Hey Arnold”, “CatDog”, “Oswald” and “Dora the Explorer.”[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]

“Teaching art opened up the floodgates and put me on a catapult.”

In the midst of all this, I gave birth to my amazing daughter Sosse and the world as I knew it gained a new purpose.

As the curtains closed on the “Angry Beavers”, another one of those darn bumps threw me into the real estate world at the cusp of the real estate boom in Southern California. Nine years of selling homes, I met wonderful people and learned a lot about business and life. My second daughter Sevan was born and things were lining up very nicely, however the pit of my creative heart was empty. I wanted to draw. So with the encouragement of my incredible husband, I left real estate and started teaching art which opened up the floodgates and put me on a catapult that was pulled back as far as it could go, but I was too scared to cut the dang rope!

Ok, fast forward to 2012. I don’t know what possessed me but I posted my first painting on Facebook. The overwhelming response and encouragement of my friends and family were amazing! And so it began. I drew and painted… a lot… in all media… oils, pastels, acrylic and watercolor but it wasn’t until I bought my Prismacolor Brush Tip markers that the gray clouds parted, the harps began to play and the angels started to sing. My characters came to life and started begging me to share them with the rest of the world. So here we are. I am obsessed with the creative life and have a little, drawn community in my sketchbook who want so much to be discovered and shared. I am now pursuing my dream of licensing and merchandising my artwork and have gained an international following. I can’t wait to see where it will take me. All I know is that I got my drawing shoes on and I’m running like Phoebe.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”12518″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
